Wire & Gemstone Jewelry Care
Wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth after every wear.
Last on, First off: Apply perfumes, lotions, hair spray etc and let them dry before putting on your jewelry.
Store you jewelry in a sealed box/bag with an anti tarnish strip. Replace the strip every 3 to 6 months.
Harsh/abrasive cleaners may damage your metal/gems/crystals and pearls. We recommend Sunshine polishing cloths (blue or yellow) for removing tarnish and polishing metal and warm, The Sunshine cloths have micro abrasives so polish gently. A cloth dampened with slightly soapy water for gems/crystals. If your jewelry is especially dirty, you can use a soft toothbrush and gently scrub it.
Do not wear in a pool or while washing dishes, showering etc-exposure to harsh soaps or chlorine may damage plated wires and/or gems.
Pearl Jewelry Care
Pearls benefit from being worn often due to the moisture in our bodies.
Wipe your jewelry with a soft or chamois cloth after every wear to remove any oils or perspiration.

Pearls should be stored in a soft/chamois bag to avoid being scratched by other jewelry. Do not store them in plastic bags or plastic jewelry boxes,Plastic can emit a chemical that can damage or erode the surface of the pearl.
Do not store them in airtight containers, in extreme heat or cold or in direct sunlight.
If you aren’t going to wear your pearls for awhile, take them out and expose them to a steamy bathroom once a year. Pearls can also be wiped down with a damp (not wet) cloth.
With that being said, do not wear pearls in a pool or while washing dishes, showering etc-pearls should never be submerged in water or exposed to harsh soaps or chlorine.
More FAQ
Will a copper ring or bracelet turn my skin green?
It’s a possibility. It depends on the chemistry of each person. Some people, but not all, find that wearing copper will cause the skin under the jewelry to turn green. This is not a permanent color change, nor is it dangerous-it usually washes right off. Copper will oxidize depending on temperature, moisture, salts and acids in/on our skin. We try to finish all of our copper jewelry with a sealant (Protectaclear) but it does wear off in time. Clear nail polish will also do if you need to re-coat your copper jewelry.
Silver & Gold plated, sterling silver, fine silver, silver filled, gold filled, 14 kt gold, 18 kt gold-these are all metal alloys and contain some amounts of copper or other metals so they all have the potential to tarnish and/or turn your skin green or black.
*Note* There is some information that also suggests that copper turning your skin green indicates low levels of certain vitamins, such as Vitamin D.
Does .925 sterling silver tarnish?
Yes, sterling silver can tarnish. It can also cause the skin under your finger to have a black color much like copper can turn skin green.
All silvers are an alloy (composed of silver and other metals such as copper or nickel). It doesn’t always mean the metal is cheap or low quality. It just means you need to polish your silver/clean it regularly or again, coat it. I do not coat any of my wire except copper.
Fine silver and .935 Argentium silver can also tarnish.
Do you use “real” gemstones?
Any gemstones that we use are genuine/authentic/real. We have a few suppliers that we have worked with for the past few years and rarely purchase from anyone else.
We work with other stones and materials (Swarovski crystals, Czech glass, lampwork glass) but each item’s description will clearly state what material is used.

When will my order ship?
Orders ship Monday through Thursday, usually within 3 business days after ordering. Holidays, weather and grandchildren can affect the timing of when orders actually go out.
